Hypnotherapy in Surrey

What is your motivation? Motivation is your desire to do something in your life, either personally or professionally; by enabling you to reach a goal that you currently aspire to or think is unobtainable. The easiest way to start is to change your habits, or mind set; simple right? Well, wrong actually. As you may know, your brain is hard wired to keep doing what it knows best. Change can be hard, but it doesn’t have to be. Below are a few straightforward tips: When the sun is out, take 15 minutes to just sit with a coffee and enjoy the warm rays on your skin, (wear your SPF50!) either with friends or alone, it will get you out the house and give you time to clear your head and work things through. I find that listening/singing along to music is very up-lifting. Keep goals small and manageable.... if you can’t get to see the people you care for face to face; can you Zoom orFaceTime them? You can’t, yet, run 5k but you can start running with a beginners app or a local running club. They’re very supportive and encouraging. In the mornings, listen to a couple of your favourite songs, reading a few motivational quotes, or just journal your feelings and write a to-do list, then start completing it! Keep the company of positive people as much as possible. Finally, make an appointment to have some hypnosis with me to see how I can help you. These little hacks will keep you focussed, and make sure you celebrate the small wins. From having a frank and open discussion of what you want to change, I will have all the details I need to help you. We can increase your desire to achieve whatever your goal is by using all the ‘tools’ in my ‘toolbox’ of therapies to ensure you are fully focussed and motivated. Please note: Hypnosis is subjective, and every person has their own experience. Some clients need more sessions than others, the average length of therapy is 2-8 sessions.
The word hypnosis derives from the Greek word for “sleep”. In clinical hypnosis, the patient is in an altered state of consciousness between sleep and wakefulness. When we use certain stimuli, mental processes are activated, and I can then treat various psychological disorders.

I will bring you, the patient, into a hypnotic or trance-like state. Using various words and associations of ideas that will change your thought patterns or behaviors. Your open mind and positive attitude will play a key role in the success of your therapy - you must have the desire to participate and be fully guided during the sessions.

Having described the process of hypnosis and reviewing your treatment goals. I will typically talk in a gentle, soothing tone and describe images that create a sense of relaxation, security, and well-being.

When you are in a receptive state, I will suggest ways for you to achieve your goals, helping you visualize vivid, meaningful mental images of yourself accomplishing your goals.

When the session is over, I will help you end your state of relaxation.
Talking Therapy
This is a technique aimed at supporting you to enable changes in your deep set beliefs and experiences, some of these have been held for a long while. By re-shaping your mindset, the knock on effect of these positive shifts in change, will help your perception of the original problem, and also help in other areas of your life
Clinical Hypnosis
This unique, advanced form of hypnotherapy tackles the root cause of a problem. By resolving the fundamental reasons why your symptoms exist, your unconscious mind can start working for your benefit. This is particularly useful for those that have experienced subconscious resistance.
Neuro-Linguistic-Programming combined with coaching can help you to gain clarity over how you really want to feel. We can identify obstacles that get in your way and can provide you with practical tools and techniques to take back control of your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

How long will a session last?

Your first session would be around 90 minutes long to really spend time discussing your needs and expectations. Moving forwards each session will then be between 50-60 minutes long thereafter.

How many sessions so I need?

This varies from person to person and also depending on how deep rooted a belief or addiction is. Sometimes we can resolve things in one or two sessions, other issues or circumstances may take several, but as a general rule most people benefit from 4-8 sessions.

Will I lose control under hynosis?

No. it is not possible to ‘make’ or enforce any behaviour or belief system that you do not already hold. For example, you could not be hypnotised to rob a bank or bark like a dog, as these are not in your general personality to do so. You, ultimately remain in complete control of yourself at all times.

Does hypnotherapy work for everyone?

No. it has an average 88% success rate. Hypnosis is not a ‘silver bullet’ to cure everything for everyone, but it can have amazing results that have great staying power. Some people need ‘top ups’ over periods of months or years, and others just need a couple of sessions once only. I am fully invested in you to help support you through whatever your predicament is; all I ask is you be fully on board in return.

Can you guarantee results?

I can guarentee to give you the best of my services at all times. Ensuring you have the best possible positive experience I can offer. As mentioned above; it is not a magic wand, but between us we will work very hard to resolve your issues.

Can sessions be conducted online?

Yes we can if that suits better. However, a face to face session will always be my preferred medium; there are no reasons why online therapy will have a detrimental affect. Infact, for some, online may be their only option to work with me, whether that’s because of COVID, distance or any other reason.
